One of the main reasons why our clients choose us as their trusted centre is sterilisation. At Estètic Simonet, in addition to cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and using disposable (single-use) materials, we disinfect and sterilise reusable materials.
What is disinfection?
Disinfection is a chemical process that kills or eradicates microorganisms without discrimination (such as pathogens) as well as bacteria, viruses and protozoa, preventing the growth of pathogenic microorganisms in the vegetative phase that are found on inert objects.
What is sterilisation?
Sterilisation is the destruction or elimination of any type of microbial life from inanimate objects, including sporulated forms of fungi and bacteria. It means the highest level of safety and therefore lethality (or biocidal efficacy) (Silvestre C. et al, 2000).
In our center you can see our two main equipment, the ultrasound (to disinfect) and the autoclave (to sterilize)
You will notice that when we attend you for, for example, a manicure, we have the material we use in a bag. This bag contains an indicator that reacts with the steam, changing colour when an optimum temperature is reached to consider that its contents have been correctly sterilised. To sterilise the bagged material, we use the autoclave, which is a pressure vessel with a hermetic seal that allows us to work at high pressure to sterilise the materials with steam (in our case).
Therefore, every time we perform a service, we use material that has been previously sterilised. For the rest of the material that we cannot sterilise, we use other methods that allow us to disinfect the instruments correctly. And, whenever possible, we use disposable (single-use) material.
We also disinfect surfaces and materials that are shared between clients, such as protective goggles for laser hair removal, applicators for the high-frequency device, wood therapy instruments, and a long etcetera.
